abstract
The exhibition ‘drawing, painting, writing’ shows the latest works of the Belgian artist studio LAb[au]. The title of the exhibition refers to classical ideas of art, which are confronted with a contemporary and concrete point of view. LAb[au]'s works thus deal with the themes of colour, form, and movement, characterised by processes and systems. LAb[au]'s experimental and innovative art practice focuses on fundamental questions of art, questioning the Zeitgeist while utilising current materials, tools, and methods.
LAb[au] works are published and exhibited internationally. Recent highlights include the presentation of the Signal to Noise installation as part of the screening program at MoMA, New York, Pix Flow's exhibition at the Venice Biennale, and the selection of (k)Nit's for the V & A, London. In 2014 LAb[au] will realise permanent installations in Belgium, Canada, and France.
