Abstract

24 unique photocopies form a single monochrome. Each has been created copying daylight over and over until the heavily inked paper accumulates marks left by the machine's toner. It's painting with light, that turns into deep darkness, and where the intention balance with the accident.

text

A single photocopy machine creates a set of A4 copies, entitled tonerchromeS, using the same procedure, resulting in unique, textured, and deep black sheets. Every page displays distinct evidence of the process; here, the machine's capacity to perform every task in a similar way reaches its limits. The protocol creates a monochrome of entropy—that is, the impossibility of reproduction.
